DRS — Terms of Service
Last updated: 21 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the DRS app, the DRS NTI test app, or the drs.club website (together, "DRS"). The apps and the website share one account. By creating an account or using DRS you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use DRS.
Who we are
DRS is run by Cheng-Hua (Damon) Tsai ("we", "us"). You can reach us at feedback@drs.club.
Drive safely. This comes first.
DRS is a tool to help you on a drive. It does not drive the car, and it is never a substitute for your own eyes, judgment and attention.
- Don't handle your phone while you're moving. Set your destination, route or convoy before you pull away, or let a passenger do it. On Android Auto or CarPlay, use only what the car screen offers, and only when it is safe.
- Obey the law and the road. Follow traffic laws, road signs, signals, posted speed limits and instructions from police and road workers, even when DRS shows something different.
- Never race on public roads. Don't use DRS to organise or take part in street racing, speed contests, timed runs or any other dangerous driving. Convoys are for driving together safely, at legal speeds, with safe gaps.
- You are responsible for your vehicle and for how you drive, at all times.
DRS is not a navigation guarantee
We work hard to make DRS useful, but maps and live data are never perfect. Please read this part carefully.
- Maps and routes can be wrong. Roads change. A route may be slower than expected, lead onto a closed, private, unpaved, seasonal or unsuitable road, or miss a restriction. Offline map and routing data can be out of date. If a route looks wrong or unsafe, don't follow it.
- Live information can be wrong, late or missing. This includes traffic, travel times and arrival times, speed limits, lane guidance, road-sign and camera information, and spoken directions.
- Alerts come from other people and other sources. Police, hazard and road alerts are reported by other drivers or come from third-party sources. We don't check them. They may be false, out of date or in the wrong place, and the absence of an alert doesn't mean the road is clear.
- Other drivers' positions are approximate. Dots on the map, the convoy rail, distances and the radar can lag, jump, be missing, or show someone who isn't there. Never use them to judge your gap to another car or to decide when it's safe to turn, merge or overtake. Look at the road.
- DRS needs things outside our control to work fully: your phone, its GPS, a mobile signal, your car's screen and our servers. Any of them can fail without warning.
- SOS and convoy requests are not emergency calls. They only notify people in your convoy. In an emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number).
Who can use DRS
You must be at least 18 years old to use DRS. To use navigation or convoys while you drive, you must also hold a valid driver's license. You may use DRS only where it is legal to do so.
Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, keep your sign-in details safe, and don't share your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
- Don't pretend to be someone else, and don't use a nickname or profile that does.
- You can delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings → Danger Zone → Delete account) or at drs.club/delete-account. The Privacy Policy explains what that removes and when.
Sharing your location, and other people's
- What other drivers see of you depends on your transponder setting (Public, Community, Crew or Stealth) and on the convoys you join. You can change it at any time. The Privacy Policy explains exactly what is shared, with whom, and how far.
- Use what you see of other drivers only to drive with them, meet up, or keep an eye out on the road. Never use DRS to follow, track, stalk or locate someone who doesn't want to be found, or to collect information about other users.
Convoys, events and meet-ups
Convoys, events, communities and meeting places are created by users, not by us. We don't check the people, cars, routes or places involved. If you join one, you do so at your own risk and you remain responsible for your own driving. If you organise one, you are responsible for running it safely and lawfully, including any permits, permissions or insurance it needs.
Your content
- You keep ownership of the photos, posts, comments, routes, places, reviews and other content you add.
- You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, display and share that content in order to run DRS and show it to the audience you choose. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already re-shared it inside DRS or where we have to keep a copy (see the Privacy Policy).
- Only post content you have the right to share. Don't post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit or misleading, or anything that exposes someone else's private information (such as their home address).
- We may remove content, or restrict an account, that breaks these terms.
- Reporting and blocking. You can report any post, comment, photo, route, event, community or profile from its ⋯ menu, and we aim to review reports within 24 hours. You can also block someone, which hides the two of you from each other. The person you report or block isn't told. Write to feedback@drs.club about anything else.
- Automatic checks. Text you post for others to see is checked when you save it. Sexual or explicit wording isn't posted, and we'll ask you to reword it. Slurs, hate speech and threats aren't posted either, and each attempt is recorded and counts as a strike. Strong language may be posted and reviewed by our team.
- Strikes and posting pauses. A strike comes from each blocked hate or threat attempt and from each report about your content that we uphold. Repeated strikes in a short time automatically pause your posting and commenting for a while (by default, a third strike within 30 days pauses them for 7 days). Driving, navigation and convoys keep working during a pause. If we got a strike wrong, we take it back.
- Suspension. For serious or repeated violations, a person on our team may suspend your account (see "Changes, and ending the service"). Accounts are never suspended automatically.
Things you must not do
- Break the law, or help someone else do so.
- Harass, threaten, bully or impersonate anyone.
- Send fake alerts, fake SOS requests or fake positions, or tamper with the app to change what other drivers see.
- Copy, scrape or harvest data from DRS, or use bots or automated accounts.
- Probe, overload, disrupt or try to get around the security or limits of our apps, relay or servers, or reverse-engineer the apps except where the law allows it.
- Resell or commercially exploit DRS without our written permission.
Premium
- Some features are part of DRS Premium, for example traffic-aware routing and richer place search. Which features are Premium, and what free accounts include, may change over time.
- We may give Premium to some members free of charge, for example to thank early testers. We can set an end date when we do.
- Free trial. You can start one free 7-day Premium trial. No payment details are needed, nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel: Premium simply ends after 7 days. There is one trial per account and one per device; to check the device, we use Apple's DeviceCheck or Google's Play Integrity service (the Privacy Policy explains how). If we can't check the device, we can't offer a trial on it. We may end trials, or change how they work, at any time.
- Paid subscriptions. We don't sell subscriptions yet. When we do, the price and renewal terms will be shown before you buy, purchases made through the App Store or Google Play will follow those stores' terms, and we will update these terms. Deleting your DRS account will not cancel a store subscription; you'll need to cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account.
Other services DRS relies on
- DRS uses maps, map data and services from other companies, including Mapbox, OpenStreetMap contributors and TomTom, and runs on Apple's and Google's platforms (including CarPlay and Android Auto). Their own terms may also apply to you, and we aren't responsible for their services.
- Links and content from other websites or apps are their owners' responsibility.
- Off-grid radio. If you pair DRS with your own LoRa radio node, you are responsible for that hardware and for using it in line with local radio rules.
Changes, and ending the service
- DRS is still being built. Features may change, break, be limited or be removed, and the service may be unavailable from time to time. The DRS NTI app is test software and is especially likely to change.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or that we're required to close by law. Where reasonable, we'll tell you first.
- We may stop offering DRS altogether. If we do, we'll give notice in the app or by email where we reasonably can.
No warranties
To the fullest extent the law allows, DRS is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. That includes any warranty that DRS will be accurate, reliable, uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, and any warranty about the accuracy of maps, routes, traffic, speed limits, alerts or other drivers' positions.
Limits on our liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, use or profit, arising from your use of DRS or reliance on it; and
- our total liability to you for any claim about DRS is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for DRS in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50.
Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Indemnity
If you break these terms or the law while using DRS, and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
App Store
If you got a DRS app from Apple's App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not Apple, and we (not Apple) are responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
- if the app fails to meet a warranty that applies to it, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price you paid for it (if any); to the extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
- we (not Apple) are responsible for handling any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that it infringes someone's intellectual property;
- you confirm you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo or listed as a terrorist supporting country, and are not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more protection, those protections still apply. Before starting any formal dispute, please email us at feedback@drs.club so we can try to sort it out informally.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as DRS changes. We'll change the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app or by email. If you keep using DRS after a change, the updated terms apply. If you don't agree with them, you can stop using DRS and delete your account.
